A Pot-Bot - CrocoJam 5 submission

"I came searching for copper and I found gold" -  (probably not) Christopher Columbus, but in fact me, when I found Crocotile 3D.

I never appreciate adapting new skill blindly, without proper consideration of what exactly my work should be. My never changing moto is:

"Practice makes perfect"

And so I opened the gates of Crocotile 3D myself, when CrocoJam 5 started. And the ultimate goal was clear: 

ROBOT, 128x128 TILESET,  Pico-8 COLOR PALETTE.

Furiously (due to my inexperience in 3D modelling and Crocotile 3D) I jumped into Pinterest - the sanctuary of all references the artist/3dmodeller/storyteller needs.....

But little did I know that most robots there were intimidating war-machines. 

That was not what I was looking for.

Feeling the need of some recreation I went into the woods.

YES! THE WOODS!

A cute, little rolling pot-bot carrying a growing tree! Very symbolic, isn't it?

And the hard work began...

 p.s. OMG, IT IS KIRBY STUCK IN THE POT 
P.S.S. And yes, very poor textures here. 

After 7 hours of stu(dying)/working I ended up with this little cute monstrosity:

And then I went to Blender to add some lighting

For the first Crocotile 3D experience that was not so bad.

Looking forward to make better works!
